【英語日記】古代エジプト展 - 仙台の小さな英会話スクールTea&Talk’s blog

Hello! 仙台・大町の英会話スクールTea&Talk(ティーアンドトーク)です！

先日、Leeとわたしは仙台市博物館へ古代エジプト展を見に行ってきました！その感想を英語日記にしています。150単語を目指して書き、145単語となりました。

ミイラはなかなか迫力がありましたが、古代エジプト文化や歴史の解説がたっぷりあり、とても楽しめました！ちなみにミイラ(一体)は英語で「a mummy」といいます。

Experiencing Ancient Culture

　Lee and I went to Sendai City Museum to see the Egypt, Land of Discoveries exhibition. There were many exhibits such as stone monuments, jewelry and mummies! The mummies were definitely amazing. We could watch videos which explained how the researchers investigated the inside of the mummies by scanning them. Some of the mummies seemed to have had diseases and injuries. Also, most of the mummies were buried with amulets, which were supposed to protect them from unlucky situations in their afterlives. It was interesting to see what the ancient Egyptians imagined would happen after they died.

　Furthermore, we were fascinated by the ancient Egyptian hieroglyphs. It’s exciting to imagine when they created those letters, matching the sounds and pictures.

　It was really worth going! Seeing the ancient culture reminded me of visiting foreign countries, which means how enjoyable it is to experience other cultures! (145 words)

　Leeとわたしは仙台市博物館へ古代エジプト展を見に行ってきました。石碑やジュエリー、ミイラなどたくさんの展示品がありました！何と言ってもミイラは凄かったです。研究者たちがどのようにスキャンによってミイラの中身を調査しているのか紹介するビデオを見ることができました。病気や怪我の痕があるミイラがいたり、多くのミイラはあの世で起こる邪悪なものから守る為につけられた護符と共に埋葬されていたようです。古代エジプト人が死後何が起こるかどのように想像していたのかを知り、興味深かったです。

　さらに、私たちは象形文字にも魅了されました。彼らがその形と音を組み合わせて文字を作り出していることを想像するとワクワクします。

　本当に行ってよかったです(行く価値がありました)！古代の文化を見ると、外国を訪れることを思い出しました。というのも、他の文化を体験することはとても楽しいということです！
