ガーディアンで、母の日にちなんだトピックを見つけたので紹介します。このトピックに関してわたしも英語日記として書いてみました。
What’s the best piece of advice your mum’s ever given you?
これまでにお母さんがくれた一番のアドバイスは何ですか？
It was very difficult to pick the best piece of advice from my mum because she has given many of them, but I think that taking a larger view is the best one so far. She gave me that advice when I had worried whether I should take the chance to go study abroad just after I’d graduated from university. Then, my mum told me, “One year is just like a blink of the eyes in the long run. How would you feel if you didn’t go when you are 60?” Those word pulled out my courage, and I finally decided to do it. Since then, I always remember those word when I worry about something and can’t move on. Even when I have had a bad day, if I expand my mind, I am able to think that it’s just one day in the long run!
