Today is November 5th. It's a special day in the UK. Do you know why?
Some of our students have learned about it... It's Bonfire Night! Bonfire Night is also known as Guy Fawkes Night or Fireworks Night.
Guy Fawkes was a conspirator who tried to blow up English Parliament in 1605. These days you could say he was a terrorist.

To remember this incident, people make a doll which resembles Guy Fawkes, walk around town with it, and burn it on a bonfire every 5th of November.

People don't usually make the doll anymore, but still set off fireworks and enjoy hot food!

Fireworks are usually a summer event in Japan, but seeing them on a cold night is actually not so bad ;)
